Happy 10 Months Sweet Girl
Darling girl, you have had a busy, busy summer. You started August off with a trip to Kelowna so that Mommy could visit her friend who was getting married, and to celebrate. You had SO much fun with your Daddy, Nana and Papa while Mommy was away.
You dipped your toes in Okanagan Lake for the first time, while we were visiting your Daddy's (and Mommy's) friend Doug. You have always liked water, but usually we take you to a warm pool, or a warm bathtub, so we weren't sure how you would like the lake. You LOVED it, and before too long, you were waist deep in the water, and making a mess in the sand.
We took you on your first big camping trip this month. We spent 4 whole days camping at Monck Park, on Nicola Lake, in Merritt, with all of your Daddy's friends and their kids. We should have known that you would rock this whole camping thing, but you amazed even us. You slept straight through the night, down at about 8, and up at about 7:30, you napped like a champ, you played with your friends, you played in the sand and in the water, and you LOVED it all. We were so glad that you got a chance to play with Alex, Robbie, Elizabeth, Frances, Jayda, and Avery, and your friends Landon and Mya even stopped in for a visit!
When we got back from Kelowna and Merritt, we spent a couple of nights at home before heading up to Squamish and Whistler. Your Mommy's old friend Dustin and his family live in Squamish and they offered to let us stay at their place while they were gone. We got to visit with Brook and Carrie, and your friends Tess and Tyah, we visited Shannon Falls in Squamish, and even spent a day in Whistler. You are one busy, busy girl, with lots and lots of friends!
You are becoming funnier and funnier as the days pass. You live to wave, at everything and everyone. You point one finger and wave it at just about anyone- we aren't sure if you use it to tell them what's what, or just to get their attention so that they can see just how cute and fun you are. Either way, we love it! You have been spending a lot of your time on the change table these days just gargling away, you think that you are very funny, and sometimes you even take a sip from your sippy cup just so you can turn that water into a good gargle.
You love to eat toast, cheerios, berries, and cheese, and you have become a bit of a turbo eater when these things are placed infront of you. We can't replace the food fast enough for you! You sure do love your food! Once this month while we were on our way home from swimming you were getting a little bit fussy in your carseat, so Mommy passed you back your container of sweet potato puffs, thinking that it would act as a rattle for you to shake. After a couple of months of music making, it got oddly quiet in the back, and I turned around to find that my clever girl had figured out how to take the lid off of the container, and you were very quietly and seriously taking piece after piece out of your container and eating it!
You have learned how to turn yourself in circles when you are on your bum, by digging your heals into the ground and spinning. You like to do full circles, sometimes just for fun and sometimes to get where you need to be. You have also learned how to help yourself to your toys and you just pull out the bin that looks the best and dig right in.
You love to feed yourself and have figured out not only how to drink from a sippy cup, but how to drink from a straw cup. Although sometimes you overdo it with the food and water and it makes you barf a little. This month your new favourite game seems to be to barf on the floor and then dig your hands and feet into the puddle and smear it around. You think it's fun, we think it's yucky! You also think it is funny to bite your mommy this month, you do it and then giggle, even mommy yells, "ouch Ava! That hurts!"
My sweet pea, my tiny little baby girl, you became a BIG cousin this month! Your Auntie Christine brought Baby Nico into this world!
We love you to bits Miss Ava, and we know that the next month with you will be even more fun than this one!
